Its a mimic, but probably only women notice a difference. Guys would almost to a man aver that two ladies wearing these are wearing the same shoes.

Women have feet?
Wasn’t it fun though?
Wow, gotta get me some of those! Look like just the thing for mowing the lawn.
Keeping it real....why would anyone wear those things? (either one)
A design patent protects the shape, style, color, Etc. Utility patents cover function. Thus a Chevy HHR can look very much like a PT Cruiser, but it’s not exactly the same. Whether fashion houses patent their designs I don’t know.
I think SAS still manufactures in the US, though some parts of some shoes may be done in Mexico and Italy:

I over-generalized. There are these smaller show mfgrs in the US. I .e., I get my sandals from Keno in Key West, FL. Made and sold there or online. But as to what you will find in dept stores, not much made in USA.
What would Hillary’s shoe style look like?
Yes; I don’t think SAS is sold in department stores, but in specialty stores that usually cater to people with foot issues, nurses, etc. Some of my friends swear they are the most comfortable shoes, and I’ve been wanting to try them. But something like that is usually very particular to the wearer - I’ve had cheap shoes that were wonderful, and wished I had purchased many pairs to always have them.

My sainted mother cooked in 3-inch heels. Her feet suffered for it at the end of her life. These aren’t her feet, but women’s feet take it hard, after years of heels and pointy toes.

Yup, not identical.
So many cars and trucks are very similar now surprised they are not suing each other.
