I’ll defend my civil rights, all of them. Any “official” that tries to strong-arm rob me, is a criminal; just like any ghetto thug that kicks in my door at 2 am - he/she will die.
My county sheriff is a friend of mine. After he won election, I called him up and said “Clark, you know me. If you should ever have a reason to speak to me officially, you call me up and I’ll meet you in your office. You send your folks over in the middle of the night to beat on my door, several folks are gonna die.”
He replied, “I realize that. I’ll call first if the need arises...”
“Civil forfeiture” is theft. Nobody is gonna steal from me and live to enjoy it.
One of the morals of this story, folks, is that the local police are not your friends any more than the feds are.
