Don’t lump Canada in that. I agree with most of it though.
Here in northern Alberta, if we had no modern abilities, they’d be doing us a favour. All this technology makes it easier for them to lord over us.

Well said and true! Many people in the States can also get along well enough without power from power plants, although we don't comprise a large portion of our population. Those who are overly dependent on high incomes from government debts--not a technically inclined people on average--are the most worried about EMP strikes, market fluctuations and the like.
As for war and the Russian leaders, they don't think the way our leaders do while considering strategies. And of some things, their people don't have as much to lose. They want to conquer. Most of their people want to conquer. It's the old Prussian attitude in some ways. Russia is pushing for war as in the past with propaganda, infiltration and attempts to intimidate NATO.
Funny, many of those of Germanic descent in the States are the most educated, involved in contemporary government regulatory and social putsches and need easy contemporary comforts more than most North Americans.
A nuclear exchange would be more survivable than most people realize after so many spooky productions from the left. I'll post links to some info on that.
