Well, he’s right but could as accurately have said the typical guy in New York or Connecticut, The “typical guy” or gal doesn’t get that connection between onerous regulations and businesses departing for distant shores. Too many now only get free stuff.
On the other hand, it’s very easy for that typical guy or gal to see how illegal immigrants will take their jobs, and enjoy benefits that the typical guy’s or gal’s taxes are paying for.
They are too arrogant and condescending toward us here in “fly-over country” to realize that we understand that, but the majority of voters in places like California and Massachusetts do not.
