In light of what’s happened, I see it as a golden opportunity for Trump. He is certainly an iconic leading nationalist figure, that shares many of the “LEAVE’s” aspirations and frustrations, and as the likely future leader of the free world, is at least as invested in solving the shared problems England and the USA have, like- a flagging economy, out of control immigration, personal and national safety, sovereignty, ornery global influences, out of touch government leaders, etc. I will be disappointed if he doesn’t make a stop.
Populism is on the rise and is now a potent political force.
Elites keep ridiculing it. Trump who endorsed Brexit, looks prescient.
He is a big winner. Obama and Hillary who wanted the UK to remain in the EU look like big losers.
And that is not lost on the voters here.
