They entered what was essentially a NAFTA, lower trade barriers / tariffs.
Over time, it started to add layers of regulation, more money taken by the EU to be redistributed to the nations the way the federal government takes money and gives it back to the states. And Merkel used it to tell I think Austria you WILL take X number of Muslim “refugees” or we won’t give you any of your money back.

"Pound is dropping. Gold is spiking. Dollar is rising. S n P futures dropping. Good thing tomorrow is Friday."

Brexit makes investors very nervous.

Is the UK going to have a "Black Friday" tomorrow? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHDsO7gvXHQ

Florida, all over again.
I am always curious of the close votes on monumental issues. It seems there should be a clear reasonable preference by a large majority, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So, it makes me wonder about vote rigging. It really does.

Scotland gets far more in subsidies that it takes in, especially with oil production down and oil prices even further down.
So they want to stay in with the largest pool of support they can.

If not Lisa M. From Alaska will demand a recount. Boxes of stay votes will then be discovered in official E.U. vehicle trunks. /s

They’re saying that scotland is voting in favor of remain as expected, but that their turnout is far below expectations

The EU was formed in 1957 and the UK joined in 1974. Ed Heath, one of the worst Prime Ministers in UK history, managed to force membership down their throats.

"More people in Bury voted to leave the EU – a 8.24% majority."

Is the District of Bury where the cemeteries vote?

"If they vote to leave will all those migrants from EU have to pack their bags and hit the road ?"

No, it will make no difference to them. New legislation does not apply retrospectively. Only new arrivals from the EU will have to get a UK visa after a Brexit. Also, under EU rules, it would be 2 years before the UK actually leaves the EU, so in the meantime any EU citizens who want to go live in the UK could do so. A Brexit vote may open the floodgates to a wave of new EU immigration!

If the UK wants a free trade agreement with the EU it will have to allow the free movement of EU citizens into the UK. (Just like Norway currently does for its F.T.A. even though it's not an EU member.)
