NBC News ^ | June 24, 2016 | Alexandra Jaffe

A Virginia delegate to the Republican National Convention filed a class action lawsuit in federal court Friday challenging a state law that binds delegates to support the primary winner at the nominating convention.

The outcome of the lawsuit could have significant implications for Donald Trump's nomination, as it will be a test case of a key argument being pushed by some Trump opponents who want to see him stopped at a contested convention.

I just posted something yesterday about a Cruz person high up in the convention attempting to block a pro-Trump march outside the convention. Trump people should not forget how Ted Cruz behaved when Ted tries to run in a future election.

I agree 100%. Why bother voting in the primaries if punks like this clown are going to do what THEY want to do anyway.

You can expect the Fed judge to refuse to certify the class and to dismiss the case. Meanwhile, everyone should deregister as a republican.

.... Apparently instead of digging trenches to battle the enemy the Republicans love to use their shovels to dig their own graves. Definitely their strongest suit! Well .... that and rushing to a gun battle armed with only their trusty chess boards.

” Trump people should not forget how Ted Cruz behaved when Ted tries to run in a future election.”

It never ceases to amaze me at how” holier than thou” Texans are here on FR, and yet they have two absolute $hit balls for US Senators, Cornyn & Cruz! These two are no more “effective” than the two Jewish Yentas we have here in California. They all must be “hitting” the Poke Salad too hard, or all the barbeque fat has replaced their brain cells!

I don’t think election laws can be changed that were in effect during an election year...those precedents were tested and set during the Buch vs Gore debacle. The money Trump will raise between now and Cleveland will show the will of the regular voters!

Lawsuit could likely be thrown out.

The Republican Party is a private entity. Thus, it can set and establish any rules it wants.

For an individual or entity to bring an outside lawsuit would raise the question of what that person has any ‘standing’ [a legalese term] to bring such a lawsuit. Since the Party is a private organization, the bringer of the lawsuit would probably have no standing.

Look for this to be filed under ‘frivolous’.

Texans aren't conceited, we're convinced.

Your disdain for 'Texans' is duly noted and quickly disregarded.

Sounds like I’ll have to post my vanity again...but I’ll wait a bit.

So I’ll just summarize here: If ELECTED REPUBLICANS want to HOLD THEIR SEATS in November, they better pray, and pray VERY HARD that this lawsuit goes nowhere.

For if some judge stops Trump, most people on THIS SITE and tens of millions of other Republicans will PUNISH them and by that, we WILL NOT VOTE REPUBLICAN in November.

...so they will need to find a new voting block to replace them, and they will quickly find that the hypothetical block simply DOES NOT EXIST.

TRUMP should sue these delegates personally.

The Party can remove delegates. They did it for Romney, against the Ron Paul delegates. REMOVE these Neanderthals.

The Party Rules are sanctioned by State Laws and Roberts Rules of Order usage, for meetings and conventions, is as common as the Constitution.

Obviously these LOSERS can’t find any loop holes to derail the peoples vote, so they look for a Lefty courtroom to upend order.

I think we can take Rubio off of the VP list, since he announced his reelection run.

Should Cruz raise his pointy hat head for election again, we’re going to look like BERNIE supporters at the Philadelphia Democrat Convention and raise hell for Mr. tED everywhere he goes.

He is *for* everything Hillary is for.. globalism, but he’s a bigger pretender than she is, waving his Bible, the flag and the Constitution, while he advances the globalist agenda by never, never, never hindering it’s long arm into the USA.
