Then, France "orders" the Brits to invoke a rule and replace the Prime Minister forthwith.

If this doesn't strengthen the will of the Brits and others, nothing will.

I strongly suspect that the Brits will see the wisdom of their decision in short order. When the EU starts really imploding they’re going to be very happy they opted out. They will have dodged a bullet.
