Instead, he offered up Democrats' presumptive presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, as the country's best alternative to Trump, encouraging his GOP colleagues to consider her when casting their ballot.

He said ‘as an American’ but I think what Henry Paulson really meant to say was that ‘as a Corporatist’ he was endorsing Hillary Clinton.
Jumpin’ the gun there, eh Paulson? Wouldn’t it be smart to wait, you know, until the parties made their nominations and you were actually endorsing the nominee?

How about a challenge against Bill Clinton getting a back door return trip to the White House in direct violation of the 26th? I’d expect that many citizens across the country will file those the day that the DNC delivers the nominee’s name to the various secretaries of state (I know I’ve got mine ready..)

This is all about snobbery. Twenty-five years ago, Spy magazine, with Graydon Carter at the helm, tagged Trump as a “short-fingered vulgarian”. Now, the elite don't want to be tainted by association with him. The Dems you are referring to know that people will assume they are voting for HRC, but Hank Paulson and George Will et al need to publicly distance themselves from this candidate whom they see as declasse.
The good news is that, I believe, there are many Republicans and Democrats are going to vote for Trump...and just aren't saying so, which is why the polls show HRC leading.
When someone like Paulson, who claims to be a former GOPe, but announces for Hillary, is nothing but confirmation that he never was for anybody but himself. He and Hillary have a lot in common.
But why would he announce that he is a jerk, and has been a jerk for many years?
It makes one wonder where, if indeed there is any, the difference actually is? I thought they were with us but timid. They’re not anywhere close to the folks that vote for them.
Sounds like the Clinton Crime Syndicate-Foundation is spreading around some cash, although I doubt they’re going to get much of a return out of this has-been/never-was Paulson joker.

One might hope that the man who presided over the 2008 financial meltdown would be just a wee bit embarrassed about presenting himself to the public as any kind of expert, but no..... these types are shameless.

But when he comes out and openly endorses Hillary Clinton, he really crosses a line. He's endorsing someone who has been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by his own former employer ... and who is now under investigation by the FBI for matters involving possible money-laundering, influence peddling, and threats to our national security.
If nothing else, Donald Trump has exposed this nation's leadership -- including ranking members of both major parties -- as a criminal organization from top to bottom.

When you have a presidential candidate under the cloud of a criminal investigation for selling out the nation to the highest bidders, it should come as no surprise when the bidders all come out and support her.
