George Will on Why He Really Supports Hillary Clinton: ‘I’m a Conservative’
Breitbart ^ | 06/26/16 | Pam Key

On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Washington Post columnist George Will explained why he left the Republican Party over presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Will said, “I left it for the same reason I joined it in 1964 when I voted for Barry Goldwater, because I was a conservative. I leave for the same reason, I’m a conservative. To give you a time line, shortly after Trump became the presumptive nominee he had a summit meeting with Paul Ryan where they stressed their vast shared ground, which is more important than their differences. I thought that was puzzling because Paul Ryan still didn’t endorse him. After Trump went after the Mexican judge, then Paul Ryan endorsed him. I decided that, in fact, this is not my party anymore. I changed my registration to unaffiliated 23 days ago. I hardly made an announcement. I mentioned this in a meeting with the Federalist Society. The long and the short of it is, as Ronald Reagan said when he changed his registration, I did not leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me.”

Responding to Trump’s tweet about his party departure Will added, “He has an advantage on me. He can say everything he knows about any subject in 140 characters and I can’t.”

George Will, one of the most overrated political pundits (who lost his way long ago), has left the Republican Party. He's made many bad calls

Ran into him at the 2014 All-Star Game at Target Field.

No time for the little people.

Says the truth. Simple and straightfoward. Hardly needs 140.

On the other hand, we are told the problems are too complicated, too complex. All the time implying we citizens are too Stoopid to understand the important nuances.

That’s right. Bamboozling the population takes way more than that 140. 140 is for the Little People / Serfs.

Exactly— had they stolen this from trump at the convention, I was ready ready to leave the party. I think the GOP is a piece of crap. Like you said it’s one thing to leave the party. It’s another thing entirely to vote for the socialists.

George I hardly knew ya.

He is not a Conservative, but he is a liar. In the interest of not wanting to be banned, I will stop at that.

HOORAY Donald J. Trump. Donald J. Trump for President of The United States of America.

ESAD George Will. The best article you ever wrote was about the timelessness of baseball. YOU are the lowest form of SCUM.

Yes, Will always sounds like a real conservative whenever he’s resigning himself to certain failure.

I bet he voted for Obama TWICE they are all frauds, every single one of them..at least as much as Sanders probably despises Hillary Clinton, he wont go negative on her because he doesnt want Trump in the White House, but here you have supposed Republicans(Not just talking about Will talking about others too) who go on TV every single day trashing Trump..so now Trump has to fight two fronts, the Democrats, the media, and open border supporting Republicans, its a losing battle

As the Bard said, “Brevity is the soul of wit.” Will, the great self-inflated pseudointellectual, seems to have forgotten this bit of wisdom.

2016, forever to be remembered as the Year of Truth. He was lying about all of it the whole time. He has one consistent conservative position, he doesn’t like occupational licensing. Other than that he’s a nut globalist neo-con leviathan loving wimp. May we hear little of him ever again.

George Will on Why He Really Supports Hillary Clinton: ‘I’m a Conservative’

Did Will really say he was going to support Clinton? I didn't see it in the article. If he's going to vote for Clinton, it's hard to see how he could ever call himself a conservative again with a straight face.

Patriots, please bear in mind that being a modern day “conservative” does not mean that you have a clue about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers and associated limited power to appropriate taxes.
“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

“Will is so full of it and so full of himself”..

You left out "pompous ass", that certainly needed to be added.
