With many prominent Republicans ducking out of the GOP convention next month in Cleveland, presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump has lined up a slew of sports figures and musicians to appear, including former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka.

Bloomberg on Tuesday reported that Trump campaign aides have lined up former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, Ditka, former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight and NASCAR chief Brian France.

(Bobby Knight and Ted Nugent are fine by me.)

Bobby Knight is an oaf. But I’ll give you that one as he ran a dynasty (in a good way or a bad way) and did it well. Certainly made the sport entertaining.

Nugent... With exception of 2nd Amendment and his musical talent, the guy is a creep. I tend to stay as far away from Pedo’s. As far as I can possibly get.
This is not here-say, conspiracy. It is a guy who laughingly admits it.

I’m all for having speakers who are not politicians. But I hope to see a broad array to make the point that this is not your father’s GOP. I’ve never heard of the proposed speakers, perhaps because I’m a woman and not a sports fan. That’s okay, but there needs to be a bit of something for everybody.

Off the top of my head, I recommend inviting Milo Yiannopolos to talk about gays for Trump. Milo would have to tone it down, but he’s a great speaker, very entertaining, and would attract a different demographic. How about Ann Coulter on immigration, the hilarious Mark Steyn on globalism and cultural identity, Laura Ingraham on the TPP, Kimberley Strassel on political correctness, Angus Deaton on the despair created by NAFTA that has sent death rates soaring in the working class, Ruben Obed singing his beautiful Latino Trump Anthem, Tusk doing their Trump song (very catchy), speakers crossing over from the Dem side who can directly appeal to the Bernie crowd.

The selection of Tyson is playing right into the ‘Rat ‘war on women’ meme. Very poor choice. Just because someone is willing to say good things about you doesn’t mean that that person ought to be given a platform. Keep Tyson the hell away.

Trump did not invite Tyson and Tyson would be a disaster.

1. Who can listen to the guys mousy, lispy voice for more than 1 minute?
2. He’s a rapist
3. He’s a rapid animal, ear biter

People under forty loved the movie THE HANGOVER - Pretty sure they liked Tyson in that movie.

No... His own words. There is a "Behind the Music" where he states it. He dated a 17 year old when he was pushing 30. There are articles in Spin Magazine from the 90's, Rolling Stone magazine, Source magazine, VH1, MtV, etc. Again, it is his own words, not some writer. Google it. It isn't something new. This has been out there for decades. Or let's take the lyrics directly from his song titled, "Jailbait" "Well I donґt care if youґre just thirteen You look too good to be true I just know that youґre probably clean Thereґs one lil' thing I got do to you Jailbait you look so good to me Jailbait wonґt you set me free Jailbait you look fine fine fine I know Iґve got to have you in a matter of time" ... yeah. Creep.

MIKE TYSON WILL NOT BE IN ATTENDENCE....Trump twitted this morning that the media twits are at it again...if Tyson wants to speak, of course, he would consider it, but he isn’t on the list....

The Huffpo hit piece includes the 17 yr old. He was going to ‘adopt’ her so that they could shack up without her parents interfering. Considering that he’s a rock star and the girl is/was a groupie her age is hardly novel although the adoption scheme was. In the end the parents allowed her to live with him so it was a moot issue. And 17 is hardly ‘pedophilia’ considering that in several states and Canada the age of consent is 16.

‘Jailbait’ is a song. If he wrote a song about a serial killer your logic would convict him of that as well.

Not a Nugent fan BTW.

I wouldn’t convict him of that unless he spoke kindly about serial killers or professed to be one himself. Again, the instances where he talks about having lust for the young girls was long before the Huffpo hit piece. He has admitted it. Then he realized the error of his ways and has tried to cover it up. It’s one thing to say it once. To say it multiple times, write a song describing in detail his feelings, and have women come out of the woodwork discussing how they slept with him when they were underage... Many telling signs there. I’m not saying every single girl is telling the truth because there is a fan base there. But when there are many, there are probably a few that are telling the truth.

He didn’t look tough as nailsoon when he was on the cover of a sports magazine getting married to the player he drafted in a wedding dress. He was before his time on that issue.

Oh, for God's sake—our country is falling apart, we are all becoming increasingly endangered by vicious terrorists looking to sop up our blood, and you bleeding hearts can't stop bleating about “insulting women” with guests from the sports world. Ever read history? It's full of famous, acompllished men and some women who would hardly be role models if their personal lives were splashed out on the daily tabloids.

Why don't you precious little snowflakes twaddle on over that dance floor and join the Dems? I think you'd be a lot more comfortable in that company.
