I ran track while in High School. During one night meet, we had a black 220yd runner who liked wearing white socks. The stadium lights didn’t cover the ends of the track and when he entered the turn all you could see were the white socks until he reentered the lighted area. We watched the video of that race for hours and not one person, black or white, saw any racism in commenting about his disappearance and reappearance. Perhaps as we have evolved, our descendants have become too thin skinned.
