Then Lynch and the President are in the clear. She can simply claim that she was leaving it up to Comey all along and the entire unpleasant affair drops down the memory hole.

She can claim that but the narrative and reality will still be that she didn’t step down until the decision was made. And it is still clearly out of her hands by deciding only now to follow whatever the FBI recommends. If there wasn’t going to be an indictment Lynch wouldn’t have had anything to remove herself from in the first place.

Exactly and all we hear is what an impeccable reputation Comey has. He lets Hillary off the hook and all will say who can second guess this stand up guy.

True, but by doing so the administration has given themselves the APPEARANCE of being willing to go as far as recusing Lynch. So the subsequent decision not to indict will be :pure”...
