So why did they meet? They knew it was ‘inappropriate’. They knew the might get caught. The purpose of a meeting is to convey information. Exactly what information would require a face-to-face meeting. Had to be something so sensitive or so important that it could only be conveyed face-to-face. Shortly following this meeting, the news that HRC will be “interviewed” by the FBI only a few days later.
HRC meet with the FBI on Saturday for approximately 3.5 hours. Previous interviews with her principal staff took two to three times as long. Rather doubtful that an extensive interview took place unless HRC spent the time “taking the fifth”. So, what happened?
Hypothesis: The purpose of the Phoenix meeting was to use WJC to convey to HRC a summary of the conclusions and recommendations of the FBI and to offer HRC the opportunity for a detailed brief on Saturday. There is no reason to think this meeting was to share “good news”. HRC now has three days to contemplate her future.
Wouldn't it be against the law for Lynch to do that (not that the law matters to any of them)? Besides, all indications are that WJC blindsided her at the airport. But with the Clintons, it's all theater and misinformation.
