Buchanan: Trump Picking Gingrich or Christie as VP Against Clinton-Warren Would Say to Voters Lets Get It On
Saturday on CNNs Smerconish, conservative commentator Pat Buchanan offered his thoughts on presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trumps potential vice-presidential picks and the upcoming Republican National Convention in Cleveland in two weeks.
Host Michael Smerconish noted the past two GOP presidents and the past GOP presidential nominees wont be attending the convention, to which Buchanan explained that Trumps campaign was an insurrection and that the insurrection was the political establishment of the Republican Party, which included former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA)...

Well, I’ll say one thing, Newt would leave Fauxahontas panties burning beside the campfire in a debate.
On the Dems side that would make 2 that never accomplished anything in office.
The Hildebeast-Lie-a-watha ticket would leave the Democrat bench pretty weak. A Trump-Newt ticket would leave a brown streak on the Democrat bench.
She’s not picking Warren...Actually, they have no one.
if Trump doesn't name a blockbuster of a VP then we'll know that he really didnt' intend to win or wanted to win...hope, hope, hope I'm wrong.
by blockbuster I mean a well spoken confident woman/black/Hispanic...but not another middle aged or older white guy who has had his time in the sun....
I couldn’t agree more. Two old white men will not cut it. Even against two old shrieking women. Which probably won’t happen on the Dem side if they know what is good for them.
Democrats think that way, so why shouldn't Republicans? Nothing is more important than filling diversity checkboxes. /s
No problem, does anyone have any of those old calvary blankets..........
if Trump doesn't name a blockbuster of a VP then we'll know that he really didnt' intend to win or wanted to winRight he's been ridiculed, called every name possible, spent MILLIONS of his own money all because he really never intended to win...
Who's the idiot in this picture?
One or two old white men have done plenty of good for this country. But I think Christie is an egotistical weakling.
My money is on Newt. Newt would be a great VP and I have been saying this for months. Trump will need a VP that knows DC inside and out but is not establishment, Newt. Newt had the nomination wrapped up in 2012 until he went soft on illegal immigration.
Yes. In that debate, the injun would be the one getting scalped.
Rarely disagree with Buchanan, but Christie and Newt really are off putting and bring no one to the voting booth.
Still hope Trump will look at Abbott. Mexican American wife and brings Texas.
Correct. Hildebeast and Faux-a-haunt-us would be way too much fossil estrogen on one ticket
.
Warren's best chance is, if the FBI hits the fan, and Hillary is out. Then they replace Hillary with Slow Joe Biden, and he picks Fauxcahontas Warren as VP to placate the Hildebeest's feminazi battalion.
She’s picking Sherrod Brown.
I’m not sure Gingrich will help. I don’t think Trump needs someone like him to swing those to the right of Romney or Ryan. I think he gets them anyway. I don’t think Gingrich helps move more GOP voters to the polls either, but he runs the risk of energizing the left because he is so hated by them.
On the plus side, Gingrich may help lock up GA, and Gingrich would also help Trump communicate with Congress since Newt knows the system and knows legislation and how to get bills passed. Whether he needs Newt for that, at the very least it sends the perception that Trump wants to work to get things done in Congress and undercuts any argument that Trump wouldn’t be able to work with Congress.
