I am glad you brought that up. That one bothered me a lot. Thermite burns at high temperatures. Doesn’t blow off engines. Don’t even know why the military would have a thermite armed missile. Grenades, for the destruction of equipment, yes. Takes minutes to burn through stuff.

The US Army has deployed ‘thermo-baric’ warheds. It is possible that someone confused thermo-baric with thermite. A knowledgeable writer would not make that error.
It is very evident that most of those claiming a missile shoot-down have never seen a missile launched or an aircraft shotdown. Nor do they have any expertise in missile systems.
