Many families have relatives that develop anger issues and grudges over the years, who seem determined to use every family funeral as their own personal airing of grievances. I’ve never understood it, and have been surprised to see one of my cousins become one of these people. We never see him other than funerals, he’s cut himself off from everybody. But, he nurses perceived injustices done to him going back to childhood, and out it comes at the visitation. He’s in his 40’s. I’ve begun to suspect he has mental issues beyond anger and grudges, myself.

One my wife’s sisters is like that too. We think that she is manic depressive. She only shows up during a rare family crisis to disrupt, intimidate, and destroy any family get together. Same thing; perceived injustices done to her going back to childhood and personal airing of grievances. She is in her mid 50s.
