The rollout of Donald Trump's running mate could come as early as the end of this week, with less than two weeks before the GOP convention in Cleveland...

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.): Christie was one of Trump's first major endorsements, backing Trump at a surprise event in Dallas before the Texas primary...

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.): Gingrich has been a vocal Trump supporter, and while he has criticized Trump at times for a lack of discipline, he has also aligned himself with Trump on policy...

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.): Sessions was Trump's first Senate endorsement, helping Trump win a large victory in the Alabama primary on March 1..

Gov. Mike Pence (R-Ind.): Pence is a rock-solid conservative who could fire up the delegates. He was once in the GOP leadership in Congress, and he understand how Washington works...

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa): Ernst is a first-term U.S. senator, former state senator and military veteran. She ran a brilliant Senate campaign in 2014 and has been a rising star ever since...

I am a fan of Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) -— though I would almost rather see him as Speaker of the House.

He is brilliant on the economy and is the principal author/spokesman for the CHOICE bill (nothing to do with abortion!), ending Dodd-Frank, which is pure cronyism for the “too-big-to-fail” banks. Regardless of his role, Hensarling will be an outstanding ally of Trump for remaking the economy.

Hensarling waited till Indiana to endorse Trump, but he is in Cruz territory (Texas). Now he is enthusiastic supporter.

Jeff Sessions

Duncan D. Hunter

Jim DeMint

It absolutely must be someone on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.

Isn’t Palin a no-brainer for Secretary of Energy or Interior?

Personally I'd prefer that she continue as a free agent than assume a job like that.

No way it's Christie - too much baggage (tollgate nonsense) and another northeastern based person

Newt would be better as Chief of Staff, although he also comes with some baggage

Ernst possible but not much name recognition or congressional experience and I think the VP he chooses needs to be well versed in congressional ropes to skip and ropes to jump to fight off both parties in congress and get an agenda passed.

Love Sessions, but I think it creates an easy narrative of two old white guys. Besides, I'm thinking we need to keep as many non-establishment R's in the senate as possible.

By process of elimination I think it will be Pence but I am not part of Trump's inner circle.

He could go rogue and pick Duncan Hunter the younger or -gasp - Cruz but I doubt it highly. As far as Palin is concerned, I simply don't think she is willing to put herself and her family through that media assault again.

Bear in mind that he did veto the religious freedom bill in his state.

Sarah Palin is a great lady—she took herself out of the running knowing she would become a target of the media and the left, she would not help the ticket as VP. They would call her stupid, a fool, a religious nut, and worse. But, I bet she will have a place in Trumps cabinet. He will not appoint her until after the election.

Not sure I buy we need a “safe” VP the media won’t go after. Trump himself is a brash target of the media.

“It absolutely must be someone on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.

I’ll second that, and add that the words, “Islam is a religion of peace” must NEVER have passed their lips, except in obvious derision of someone who said it.

Sessions would be the best pick for several reasons. Forget about having a younger person to groom to run in the future. How many VPs have gone on to be president. Not many. We need a man for the here and now. Sessions is temperamentally suited to deal with Trump. He is solid and calm, not a shoot from the hip guy. He is respected by Trump and would be a steady influence for him. Plus he is certainly well versed in both the legislative and judicial branches of government. Most importantly he has been stalwart in the defense of “we the people”.

Cruz but I doubt it highly

Even if they were on good terms, he would not pick a guy whom he has claimed is ineligible to be president. That would expose him as a hypocrite.
