I hear ya. Newt has two B’s: Brilliant and Baggage.
I’d like him in the admin somewhere, probably chief of staff.
I like Joni Ernst, but I think she would be devoured by DC politics - wish she had more experience.

You mean ridden out of town on a rail, with his tail between his legs.
I love Newt, but Newt has too much baggage and is not totally reliable.

i don’t know anything about this author, but if Time magazine is pushing for Newt, you can bet your behind that it’s because they think it makes Trump less electable, not more.

that's part of the problem with Newt. he doesn't bring you any new voters, but he alienates some percentage of the voters already leaning your way.
he's a bad choice. a very bad choice. he's also gone wobbly on lots of important conservative issues and he's too chummy with the inside the beltway culture.

Trump will shock everyone with his VP pick.
Competent to step into the presidency at a moment’s notice, will get lauded by the press, and will crush the never Trump movement once and for all.
Trump’s pick will be Mitt Romney.
You heard it here first. Wrong, but first. One out of two ain’t bad.

I think Newt as Trump’s chief of staff is a better use of his talents and knowledge.

Trump’s VP should be in line for President in 2024. That is what I think about whenever someone tosses out a name...do I want to see that person as President in 8 years?
To: newgeezer
NO thank you.
The Media should have no role in choosing the VP selection.
Gingrich would be a terrible choice, and the MSM is salivating over the possibility of coercing Mr. Trump into picking him.
No to Gingrich.

Who cares if Gingrich destroys the dem VP pick in a debate?
The MSM will destroy Mr. Trump if he chooses Gingrich.
Gingrich had his day over two decades past, and he has been compromised. He is a terrible choice, and I hope Mr. Trump doesn't fall into the trap of believing the media narrative that Gingrich would be the best choice.

I'm pulling for Newt. Newt's stand on how to deal with the courts is more than enough to support him.
I remember his last campaign when Newt took the press to task in the firmest of ways and his numbers jumped big time, next debate he was back hat in hand to be forgiven. Bad move by Newt, instead we got Romney.

I used to love listening to Newt fielding questions during the debates and his rallies. No teleprompter, no boring speeches with vocalized pauses. Weaving history and Americana into the answer. He’s a master. He’s a teacher.
Then I remember how he was manhandled by Romney and Ryan.
I like Newt, and I think people will like him. I don’t see major flaws with him. Age should not be a factor.
He’s far and away the most qualified of the bunch.
