Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Wednesday slammed Republicans for focusing their fire on the FBI for not recommending charges against Hillary Clinton.
"It's over. It's time to move on," Reid said. "Republican attempts to continue their political hit job are just that, they're political."
Reid's remarks are the first time he's weighed in on the Clinton email scandal since FBI Director James Comey said Tuesday morning that he would recommend no charges for Clinton's use of a private email server while serving as secretary of State.
Republicans are showing no signs of dropping the subject. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) called on the FBI to release it's 3.5-hour interview with Clinton from Saturday.
Reid said GOP attempts to dig into the FBI investigation were "wastefulness,” and tied their strategy to their presumptive presidential nominee, Donald Trump.
"Republicans are in such desperate shape because of Trump they would seize upon anything," he told reporters.

Erm...the problem is that the report exposed that this is ANYTHING BUT a hit job. It is brazenly letting a criminal go. How you get to the conclusion there was no “intent” when you, “accidentally”, set up your own email server is inexplicable.
I’ve seen FB posts from people on the left & right all saying this is a disgrace. The elites think they can just keep playing politics and say “move on, nothing to see” - except nobody is buying it. The fact that the DNC think this “clears the way” is ludicrous. They’re basically saying it’s ok to be a criminal in the DNC and run for president - they’re FINE with it. I think this is a huge miscalculation.

OK, Mr. Reid, let’s concentrate now on all the corruption and crookery that surrounds the Clinton foundation.
