My family is from South Central Los Angeles. Being an Army brat, I only spent my teen years there, but that experience motivated me (and my siblings) to get the heck out of there as soon as we could.
I left for good over thirty years ago, and never looked back.
Living and working right outside Fort Knox, I have a lot of friends and coworkers who came from some of the roughest neighborhoods in the country.
