They didn't have a bomb, they were attempting to detonate a bomb the perp had.

Sorry, this post was in error. I'd read earlier reports they'd use a robot to detonate a bomb the perp had. Upon reading additional reports, it appears they did take him out with a bomb.

Not to worry, the terrorist perps had threatened the police that "bombs were all over the place" leading to the report that the police were responding to perpetrator placed bombs.

They (the police), in fact, were responding to bomb threats.

I was posting from later reports, so I knew where your post came from.
