Could John Kasich Dump Trump in Cleveland?

Has John Kasich really left the race for the presidency?

In recent days, the words and actions of the Republican Ohio governor and his political staff have made the question worth asking.

In early April, Barron’s ran a cover story on Kasich, arguing that his “policy prescriptions, experience, and temperament make him the GOP’s best bet to reassure a nervous marketplace.” The Barron’s piece also pointed out that Kasich, unlike Trump and Ted Cruz, was handily beating Hillary Clinton in the polls.

A month later, on May 4, Kasich “suspended” his race for the GOP nomination after it became clear that Trump was on his way to winning on the first ballot. Ted Cruz, who had racked up the second-highest number of delegates, had dropped out one day earlier.

Since then, Kasich, who has refrained from endorsing Trump, has been keeping a low profile back in Ohio and giving few interviews about presidential politics. Though political observers and online betting parlors alike had once viewed Kasich as the leading choice to be any GOP nominee’s running mate, that possibility diminished because of the governor’s clear distaste for Trump.

Kasich has said that he will be in Cleveland during the week of the convention – the event starts Monday, July 18 – but has no plans to participate.

Preibus should throw Son of Mailman right out of the GOP.

Kasich is really a Democrat at heart, like Romney is.

Could John Kasich Dump Trump in Cleveland?

John Kasich will, at the moment of decision, fail to protect the convention from #BLM and #antifa attackers, and Paul Ryan will adjourn sine die without a nominee. A rump convention will follow at an alternate location (I have no doubt this is being planned right now) and nominate Romney and Rubio.

So, in that sense yes, Kasich can and will "dump Trump".

My fellow Trump people: You are being painfully naive to believe that "the system" is going to allow the Trump hostile takeover through the convention-nomination-election route, because the system is not about to do that.

Kasich has been a jackass since puberty w/a room temperature IQ. People who talk w/their hands need professional help.

Kasich lost, pretty dramatically. He is irrelevant. He has little influence

Where is the GOP convention supposed to take place?
What state is Cleveland in?
Who is the chief law enforcement officer and commander in chief of the Ohio National Guard?
Who has announced he will be on site but not participating in the convention?

Your definitions of "relevance" and "influence" are pretty limited.

It’s actually going to be fun watching Trump humiliate this RINO assclown at the convention being held in his home state.

Kasich is truly one of the most loathsome, slimy scumbag politicians out there.

He is just like many other rats in the Republican party, on par with Nathan Deal, Lisa Murkowski, Lindsey Graham, Jeff Flake etc.

They know very well that they would NEVER get elected running as democrats in a red state so they PRETEND to be republicans just to get elected.

They are the worst type of politicians.

Kasich should have ran as a democrat. He’s the same as hiLIARy. So your statement “anyone but hiLIARy” doesn’t make sense.

I noticed that the biggest reason kassick should be Prez is because he will “calm the nervous marketplace” (Translation: Keep the plunder going). Not a sufficient reason by my reckoning.

Dramatically is an understatement. Litte Marco has more delegates and he left months before K-Sick pulled out.

160 delegates for Kasich vs. 1439 for Trump. Do the math.

I thought Trump had more than 1500 delegates.
