You listen again and I will give you what a typical police radio conversation is like for this situation.
2C17: “2Charles17 traffic.”
Dispatch: “2Charles17”.
2c17: “Traffic 5300 block of Larpenteur, with Minnesota ABC123, light blue Buick, occupied twice. Have an assist respond, possible suspect from incident at 123 main street.”
Dispatch: “Ten Four, any unit to respond to assist 2C17 with traffic, possible 99 J-2 subject.”
2nd Unit: 2c23, 10-76, advise 90 I will be out of sector.”
Dispatch: “10-4, 2c23 enroute, 2c17, your issue when ready.”
2c17: “Go ahead.”
Dispatch: “Returns to a 96 Buick Century 4 door, to a Tom Smith of 321 Spring Lane, expires July 2016.”
2c17: 10-4, hard copy.
2c23: “10-23”
Dispatch: “2c23, 10-23 at 1305 hours, advise if you want the station held.”
2c17: “Go ahead and hold it.”
Dispatch: “Attention all cars, station is 10-6, for traffic stop, emergency traffic stop.”

2c90: “2c90 (supervisor) 10-76, 10-22 (repeat) his 20.”
2c17: “2c17 shots fired!!!”
Dispatch: “2c17”
2c17: Shots fired, my 20, suspect down, scene not secure, have 90 expedite, start EMS!”
Dispatch: Attention all cars, 6c17 has shots fired, suspect down, scene not secure, available units respond!”
Now, Flaglady, compare that “bogus” recording to what I posted and ask yourself what seems genuine.
Again, the recording has no unit numbers, no ten codes, a obviously forced “I have uh reason to stop him” and no dispatch response, until the BS shots fired. Dispatch would not have asked if he heard the shots, they would have known he was out on traffic and the shots were related to the traffic stop.
Oh, BTW, 20 year LE vet so I know what I speak of.
