No, he isn't. When people on the left say stupid and illogical things, it isn't because they are stupid and illogical. At all times they are either protecting or advancing their narrative. Sometimes that just can't be done logically though.
All their stupid and illogical statements are deliberate, either to cause cognitive dissonance, covering up something that doesn't advance the narrative, or giving brainwashed people on their side a fig leaf to believe in so their willing suspension of disbelief can continue.
Calling progressives stupid or laughing at the things they say lets them off the hook, exactly at the time when they are on the ropes and can be defeated.
