This was made up on the spot, because he had stated to the PD via the very same robot that he had a ied vest on & there were other charges placed around the area. I do not thing the manufacture had thought of using it in this way. But it worked. I too wonder how close they got to him before detonating it. If shaped charges can be used to bring down building [in a controlled fashion & are used against armored targets in war] one can imagine what one would do against a 25 yro meth head.
