I am sure the Clinton Foundation has done similar things.
Let us assume for the sake of argument that it is literally true as you say. If so, Hillary receives honor for dispensing funds which came from foreign governments - and that honor is illegitimate because. . . and the Clinton Foundation accepted money from foreign governments while she held an office of profit or trust as Secretary of State.
- Article 1 Section 9:
- No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state
In reality, both foreign government contributions to the Clinton Foundation and foreign government payments of honoraria for speeches by Bill are illegitimate under the Constitutional provision cited above. Because she was on the federal dime (actually, as a retiree Bill was too) and she was a principal in two institutions - the foundation and her marriage to Bill) which received foreign government money.
Perfect.
