You are onto something, sometimes drug use also comes into the picture with all those pills found around the San Bernadino terrorists.

Some of the terrorists in Belgium and France also had drug records with the police.

But back to your original idea, the Charlie Hebdo terrorists in Paris were investigated with child porn reportedly found on computers.

Definitely. Not all, but many.
Goes a way to explaining why terrorism is a male dominated arena (not exclusively male, I know).
