The banking giant HSBC "knowingly" provided support to four of Mexico's most notorious drug cartels by laundering their money and providing material support to terrorists, according to a new lawsuit filed by four families.

The papers filed in U.S. District Court in Brownsville, Texas, on Tuesday say that laundering drug money made it possible for the cartels to operate.

"HSBC's substantial and systemic money laundering support materially aided the activities of the Mexican cartels, including the Sinaoloa, Juárez, and Los Zetas cartels," court documents read.

There will be a fine since a corporation is a person who does not really exist to go to jail.

What a shame.

“HSBC stands for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.”

Yes but when I lived in Hong Kong some of the locals said it stood for “Holy Shit Batman, Criminals!”

Indeed, a fine. Same as in the Wells Fargo case. It doesn’t upset the bankers, and the Feds get their cut of the Drug trade.

Dear therapsid,

re:
“They are helping destabilise mexico so they can buy more of it....staging area imo...”

Unlike the morons in Washington, D.C., the Chinese have been following the plans laid down in the last millenium.

Once again, the Obama Washington beltway brats play checkers, while the Chinese look like Boris Spassky.

Oh, and in case you forgot, the Clintons sold the San Diego naval facility to the Chinese a long time ago.

Comey turns out to have lots of interesting antecedents.

Awful, just awful.

I have a question that I hope someone can answer.
How does legalizing pot help or hurt this underbelly activity?

The argument I hear all the time is that legalizing it will end this kind of collusion. True?

There’s another story on FR stating that FBI Director Comey is a member of the board of HSBC. How convenient!
