The "independent investigation" proved no such thing. In his own court statements, the man who wrote the report, former FBI director (and Clinton/Gore political fixer) Louis Freeh admitted that the "investigation" investigated nothing. In his own court statements Freeh has admitted that his "report" is "not a factual document, and is only a collection and summary of opinion."
Freeh had no investigative authority. He had no authority to compel witnesses or to gather evidence. He had nothing more than access to PSU documents that most other people don't have. He did not even interview the three principal former PSU employees targeted by his report. In nearly two million pieces of email and other documents to which he had access, Freeh found someone -- who might have been Paterno but was more likely Sandusky himself -- mentioned EXACTLY ... twice. Neither of those documents implicates Paterno in a cover-up.
Yeah, that's some great damning evidence against Paterno you got there.
Are you denying that, in 1998, Pedorno talked about the rapes to PSU honchos? Pedorno knew. Pedorno let it continue. Penn State let it continue. Fans/alums like you make excuses and deny these evil deeds by your coach and institution. Why?
