Try this scenario on for size.

1. Ginsburg makes incredibly inflammatory remarks about Donald Trump.

2. Liberal media agree that the comments are outrageous and unacceptable.

3. It is then announced that Ginsburg is suffering pre-dementia due to health concerns and treatment for them.

4. Following medical and political advice, Ginsburg resigns.

5. Democrats, liberals, media all demand that, though it might be fair to hold up replacement for Scalia, it is only fair that Obama be permitted to fill one of the two Supreme Court vacancies.

6. McConnell states, "There isn't an ice cube's chance in hell that an Obama nominee will get a hearing.

7. Democrats go on the political warpath accusing the Republicans of unConstitutional behavior, moping, littering, and cruelty to animals.

My scenario allows for modification at step 6 if McConnell and the rest of the RINOs cave, giving a key Supreme Court appointment to Obama despite the mantra that "elections have consequences".
