Speakers at Donald Trump’s Convention: Tim Tebow, Peter Thiel, But No Sarah Palin?
New York Times ^ | JULY 13, 2016 | JEREMY W. PETERS

Posted on 07/14/2016 12:23:43 AM PDT by iowamark

CLEVELAND — A night highlighting the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya. An appearance by onetime football star Tim Tebow. A presentation detailing former President Bill Clinton’s sexual misconduct.

Donald J. Trump, the presumptive nominee, has been promising a different kind of Republican National Convention, and plans obtained by The New York Times show that he is eager to put his showbiz stamp on the party’s gathering, even as he struggles to attract A-list talent.

The roster of speakers obtained by The Times, and confirmed by two people with direct knowledge of the convention planning, reveals a lineup lacking many of the party’s rising stars. Instead, it features some of Mr. Trump’s eclectic collection of friends, celebrities and relatives, from his Slovenian supermodel wife to professional golfer Natalie Gulbis...

The list, which is subject to change, as obtained by The New York Times:

Night 1: A Benghazi focus, followed by border patrol agents and Mr. Shaw, whose son was killed by an undocumented immigrant. Senator Cotton, Mr. Giuliani, Melania Trump, Ms. Ernst and others.

Night 2: A focus on the economy: Mr. White, president of the U.F.C.; Asa Hutchinson, the governor of Arkansas; Michael Mukasey, the former United States attorney general; Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, a vice-presidential possibility; Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader; Tiffany Trump; Donald Trump Jr. and Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

Night 3: Ms. Bondi; Ms. Collins; Newt Gingrich, a former House speaker; Senator Ted Cruz of Texas; Eric Trump; Ms. Gulbis; and the nominee for vice president.

Night 4: Mr. Tebow; Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee; Gov. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma; Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman; Gov. Rick Scott of Florida; Mr. Thiel; Mr. Barrack; Ivanka Trump; Donald J. Trump.

I'm not sure two old guys is the way to go.

Remember the last young guy that was on the GOP ticket as VP?

Probably not but he had trouble spelling potato, destroyed his career.

Perhaps, but I have sent more money to Sarah than any other politician in my lifetime.

She changed. And, frankly,I don’t think she really is seeking office anymore. I think she is happy being able in influence without having to join the fray.

‘McCain lost in spite of Palin and her endorsements have been golden. Seems she was the first to endorse Trump and then he won everything from there on, hmmm?’

The passion, honesty and intellectual substance of Governor Sarah Palin far outweigh quibbling about the timbre of her voice.
Weak men are very threatened by Sarah Palin.
What potency they have wilts in discussions about Gov. Palin.

Quayle did not have trouble spelling potato; it's an alternate spelling and not an earth-shattering thing to write. Put together the puzzle pieces, now that the Bush Dynasty has had their masks ripped off. The Illuminati scheme was to marginalize a very qualified, personal, and competent Dan Quayle so relative unknown GWB could have the nomination bought for him. (isn't that what they tried with Jeb?)

Dan Quayle was highly thought of as a US Senator. As VP, he was very, very excellent at diplomacy and foreign affairs. The world would be a much better place if Quayle had been President! Now, it would be very excellent if Quayle were brought in to add decorum, after the mess Obama's made of our relations with other countries.

Still a potatoEhead. <^..^>

Ditto Resettozero’s remarks, although I note that several Sarah Palin supporters appear later in this thread.

God bless them.

Yes Sweetest Onyx.

F.R's Best is here now.

As I knew they would be.

I am not worried, Nigel Farage will be there and I don't think he is speaking either.

Is that in fact Todd Palin in the photo where all are wearing Breitbart tee-shirts? My first and second impressions were that was Sarah's brother Chuck.

I agree. Her voice and delivery have turned awful somehow. She comes off as not entirely sober or something and screechy. Not as bad as Hillary, but not good. I thought she was a rising star, so this is disappointing at least for now.

Blah blah blah.

I think Palin is the VP choice. But we will see tomorrow.

The world would be a much better place if Quayle had been President!

We are in agreement and I am old enough to remember both spellings.

I doubt anyone on FR would correct the teacher who gave him the spelling on the card especially on national TV.

You may recall Dan had a weak speaking voice, I include this for the rash of Palin PDS'ers who are all over her today.

Dan would have made a fine President, still would.

When he saw that the money machine for GWB would probably overwhelm his campaign, he dropped out. It was like he wasn't going to fight that kind of fight or waste people's money that way.

About his speaking voice. I heard Quayle speak when he was VP, at the 1989 West Point graduation. He spoke with pride about how well those he had nominated over the years had done. He gave an informed and passionate speech about the threats the world faced, and what had to be done to keep US policy ahead of the problems. There was absolutely nothing to complain about with his delivery, knowledge or speaking voice.

I hope that Mr. Trump brings Dan Quayle on board, to help in preparing a new generation of class-act people to straighten out foreign affairs.

Do you usually go to a public forum and give constructive criticism to your loved ones?

If that person is a public figure, why not?

When the constructive criticism is just an insult disguised as help, like those that seem to be suffering with Palin Derangement Syndrome,

Does the original poster suffer from this? How is it that FR has turned into a den of psychics? This place has truly morphed into an amazing forum.
