The no-indictment deal was already made, months before the tarmac meeting.

So it must've been something else that was discussed by Lynch and Clinton.

I believe Bill Clinton had got wind that Comey was planning to dump a ton of bricks on Hillary -- no indictment, but a ton of bricks nonetheless.

Bill's mission was to try to preempt this. He was likely demanding that Comey just pass along a recommendation with "no comment." Clearly he didn't succeed.

I can’t believe no one here “gets it”.

Clinton did not have to say anything about Hillary. Him simply being there (and the implications) was the message.
