After driving for 2 kilometers at up to 70kmh on Nice's seaside Promenade des Anglais during national Bastille Day revelry on Thursday night, mowing down hundreds of people and killing 84, the alleged Nice killer, Tunisian Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel came to halt in front of the Hotel Westminster, where a shoot out with the police ensued, leaving the truck riddled with bullet holes and in the process killing the assailant.

Its good to have that video, but I would not be filming from a standing position, 100 feet away from a terrorist-police shoot-out.

It is impossible to stop something like this. I am glad they killed the guy. It tells all the other terrorists what their fate will be.

Like millions of other tourists, I have walked the Promenade des Anglais. It is beautiful and luxurious, as close as one can get to paradise if you’re okay with the angels having French accents.
Now its name will go up on the memorial wall beside the Trade Center, the London Subway, Madrid, Beslan, Mumbai, Bali, and a hundred other places baptized in blood by the Religion of Peace.
The problem is, he will be considered a martyr, hero, a model - and perhaps envied for his acquisition of 72 virgins.
What needs to be done, even if it is after-the-fact, is to announce that he was buried wrapped in a pigskin, face down, with his ass facing Mecca. At a minimum, it might instill Second Thoughts.
