Mike Lee predicts backlash after RNC smothers delegate rebellion
Yahoo News ^ | July 15, 2016 | Jon Ward

Lee denounced the result in the room in front of the 112 committee members and a large contingent of reporters, and then spoke exclusively with Yahoo News for 15 minutes afterward in a room down the hall.

In the committee meeting, Lee did not concede that Trump — who is now all but certain to be named the GOP’s nominee next Wednesday night — will in fact be the party’s choice.

“I hope whoever the nominee is going to be this time will in fact win over the delegates,” Lee said. “But rules like this are not going to help that.”

He seemed to hint at the prospect of a demonstration on the floor of the convention, noting that “as we will see in a few days” the “angst” among many anti-Trump delegates or those with serious reservations about Trump “isn’t just going to go away.”

When I asked Lee if there would be an attempted revolt on the floor of the convention, he was evasive, likely because he needs to collect his thoughts and also perhaps keep Trump’s campaign off balance.

When ‘principled conservative,’ means, ‘trying to hand the election to Hillary,’ Lee will be a principled conservative.

>I’m serious asking this question. What did Trump do to upset so many Mormons?

He attacked Romney after Romney attacked Trump. Romney is kind of like a Mormon demi-god for them. There’s a real possibility we might lose Utah over it.

“Mike Lee predicts backlash after RNC smothers delegate rebellion”

Lee is absolutely correct: President Trump will make every effort possible to cut this traitor off at the knees and then make sure he’s never elected to any office higher than dog catcher as long as he attempts to run as a Republican.

Romney was or is a Bishop of the cult.

Look, this selection process has long been over. Now all Lee is doing is he’s beginning to come off as a real goof-ball.
This is not a good trait for a politician to develop.

I always thought that Mormonism was more similar to Islam than Christianity.

Mohammed and Joseph Smith both had humble beginnings. Neither had formal religious connections or upbringing, and both were relatively uneducated. Both founded new religions by creating their own scriptures. In fact, followers of both prophets claim these scriptures are miracles since their authors were the most simple and uneducated of men.[2]

“I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.”[4] In light of these parallels, perhaps Joseph Smith’s claim to be a second Mohammed unwittingly became his most genuine prophecy of all.

[1] Joseph Smith made this statement at the conclusion of a speech in the public square at Far West, Missouri on October 14, 1838. This particular quote is documented in Fawn M. Brodie, No Man Knows My History, second edition, (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1971), p. 230–231. Fawn Brodie’s footnote regarding this speech contains valuable information, and follows. “Except where noted, all the details of this chapter [16] are taken from the History of the [Mormon] Church. This speech, however, was not recorded there, and the report given here is based upon the accounts of seven men. See the affidavits of T.B. Marsh, Orson Hyde, George M. Hinkle, John Corrill, W.W. Phelps, Samson Avard, and Reed Peck in Correspondence, Orders, etc., pp. 57–9, 97–129. The Marsh and Hyde account, which was made on October 24, is particularly important. Part of it was reproduced in History of the [Mormon] Church, Vol. III, p. 167. See also the Peck manuscript, p. 80. Joseph himself barely mentioned the speech in his history; see Vol. III, p. 162.”

Despite their claim that the Bible was corrupt, both prophets admonished their followers to adhere to its teachings. An obvious contradiction, this led to selective acceptance of some portions and wholesale rejection of others. As a result, the Bible is accepted by both groups of followers only to the extent that it agrees with their prophet’s own superior revelation.

The above is also true of the Jews. The Talmud superseded what is written in the bible. This was Jesus constant battle with the Pharisees.

Are protestants exempt from this process? NO! That is why Jesus tells the seven churches in Revelation to REPENT and go back to your first love.

Except the oral teachings of Moses were the Word of God for 40 years before Moses wrote scrolls, and for centuries before the Prophets.

Sore loser.

And not even a gracious one at that!

The majority has spoken and now its time to come behind our party’s nominee.

Those who don’t want to defeat Hillary Clinton need to leave now!!!

No, that opens the door for your delegates to lose their credentials just because somebody in charge doesn’t like them.

If he is a duly selected delegate representing Utah, he should be allowed in.

Although - this raises an interesting question - how does a delegate get to be on the Rules Committee, Credentials Committee, etc.?

I really can’t stand cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face purists or the petty types who can’t forgive what they think are slights against “their” candidate. Both groups (often one and the same) are more than happy to try to drag the conservative movement (and the country for that matter) off a cliff in order to feel “principled.” These sort of back-stabbers need to be voted out of office as soon as possible. They are in effect batting for the other side.
