The Turkish army’s assigned role under the secular government established by Ataturk was to be the protector of the secular government.

I wonder if the army has decided to fulfill the role assigned it after WWI.

I hope so.... I love Turkey, and can’t stand Erdogan.

That is what a dude on Fox News is saying. He sounds optimistic about it. Of course O’bama will probably be against it since it is a fundamentalist Islamic government.

“The Turkish army’s assigned role under the secular government established by Ataturk was to be the protector of the secular government.”

That has been the role of the Turkish army since Atatuck. To make sure Turkey is a democrat, secular society. They are the good guys. The bad guy is the worthless president who’s a member of the Muslim Brotherhood who wants to put the country under Sharia Law. Not going to happen in Turkey. If this current coup doesn’t succeed it’s a matter of time before the people take their country back.
