Think Erdogen’s time has been up since the airport attack.
It was probably up when he colluded with obama and company in ambush set up to shoot down Russian jet in disputed Syrian territory
Or to massacre and assassinate journalists Kurdish activists and other opponents
Or maybe they just got tired of paying the electric bill to light up Erdogan’s palace
Now , will US intervene? Or did Russia warn kerry off
Having lived in Izmir for a couple years in the ‘70s, I’m surprised that it took the general staff as long as it did to restore democracy. They are historically much more secular that the current government, and the government usually served at their pleasure. One of the first things Erdogen did was purge the generals when he came to power which probably bought him a year or two.
