GOP Establishment crushes conservative voices in rules committee
Conservative Review ^ | July 15, 2016 | Robert Eno

During the RNC’s Rules Committee meeting, grassroots conservatives were crushed by the establishment. Openness, transparency, and the rights of the minority lost yesterday in Cleveland. It was a rout.

Sure, the headlines coming out of the Rules Committee meeting yesterday were that Free the Delegates and Delegates Unbound were soundly defeated. Hidden under the headlines is the fact that time and time again measures to devolve power to the members of the RNC and away from the chair were soundly defeated - ________

As the meeting finally got underway any rule that would have placed limits or checks on the Chair of the Republican Party was soundly defeated. These rules included allowing committees to elect their own chairmen, requiring the presence of a parliamentary professional at all RNC meetings, lessening the grip of the chair on the budget committee, among others. Every attempt was quickly characterized as an attack on Priebus. Priebus’ allies always couched their arguments against transparency in a veil of teamwork and unity. -

Good grief what’s next a #nevertrumplivesmatter campaign? Hard to believe that someone who considers himself a conservative is so willing to throw down the victim card.

Conservative Review is Mark Levin’s website and people like Amanda Carpenter and Daniel Horowitz write there. They’re all NeverTrump.

This isn't just a complaint by those not thrilled with Trump, is it?

Mark Levin is founder and editor of Conservative Review, should tell you all you need to know.

You have two things in life, your product and your word. Many of these so called good Christians gave their word on stage and now have failed to honor it. Cruz,Jebito and the rest are failures in my book. I would not do business with any of them. Their word sucks! No sympathy for them in the rules committee.

it’s truth, fact, you got a problem with that?

It’s PC of you to think otherwise.

Facts and truth don’t change just because people want to ignore them.

Note that the Trump folks used the rules installed by the 2012 rules committee to their advantage. If some petulant child wants to blame someone blame Mittens

This is definitely brought on by the Cruz people who are sore losers... and the Bush and the Romney people.

This is Trump’s time, Folks. Let’s give him his do and support.

If you people in the party don’t like it, form your own party.

Here’s my latest. Forgive me if I forget some. A year ago I would not have said this, but now in my mind, I feel the following:

Cruz out
Bushes out
Romney out
Lee out
Levin out
Rush out, but coming slowly back in
Kelly Meygyn waaaaay out
Glenn Beck out...in the stratosphere of my mind
Steve Hayes out
Anybody associated with the never Trump movement out
Kristol out
NRO out...way way out
Juan Williams still out, and will never be in, except for laughs
Mark Cuban out
Snoop Dog out

Yes this was a few Zealots who can’t live with the reality that their guy got trounced by the electorate.

Trying to spin that the RNC delegates are being oppressed because they can’t undo the will of millions of republican voters is just that SPIN.

““American Party”. would that include our neighbors to the south and north?
I’ll never understand why we in USofA think we are America, when we are not even the whole of North America.” ( b4m3)

Why am I not surprised that you have only been a member of Free Republic for 7 months. Joined just in time for the primaries and election.

How old are you?. I am reminded that twit who was a candidate for Miss Teen 2007.

Wrong? Really?

Look at the way this country has steadily gone downhill for the past 50 years with both democrats and republicans running things. Every president since LBJ has increased the national debt. Corporate lobby groups have gotten their way almost every time while the American people are shoved aside, no matter which group is in control. Politicians on both sides of the fence are corrupt liars, pandering for votes then doing whatever their money masters say.

Both do need to be thrown out like dirty dishwater and we need to start over, with a strong statement that the people will not tolerate more lies and corruption.

The media is not helping either, it’s almost impossible to convince democrats the media is lying, because the tell them exactly what they want to hear. Then blame anything bad on republicans, and they believe that too.

And republicans certainly ain’t no saints. I watched the primaries, Bush, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio...all weak, greedy slime holding their hands out for more establishment money. NO backbone in the republican party, no will to stand up against the politically correct...

It’s been time to eliminate both and start over for years. Both are not interested in what is best for this country.

it’s a continent thing or did you not learn your continents in primary education?

USofA is part of a continent.

“American Party” could potentially include north and south america. you want that? why want a name so broad in possible meaning?

They gave their word on stage before millions. They blew up when they failed honor their word. They are not conservative or Christian.

They no longer are a party of the people but of big money and globalists.

Ironic but true.

Time has passed them by.

Most of the the really big money people and Globalists the republicans protect now hate them and are loyal supporters of the socialists and communists and democrat party.

In the beginning, there were a bunch of colonies who overthrew England.

They were located in America, see?

So, the United States of Europe, or Asia, or Africa - none of these would have worked. Get it?

Now, why don't you start whining about how we are in no way exceptional, nor have we ever been, troll?

Psyops are yuge this year. The GOPe has now taken on the mantle of "grassroots activists," and is claiming Trump is "the establishment."

Bush, Romney, Graham, George Will, and William Kristol, the inside the beltway golden children of the establishment, are now claiming they're the plucky outsiders speaking truth to power.

When Lindsey Graham said, "If Trump is the nominee, it will destroy the Republican party for twenty years," what he meant was, "If Trump is the candidate, WE will destroy the Republican party for twenty years." They were perfectly willing to use the Samson option and destroy the party, giving power to the Rats, in order to advance the globalist agenda. Fortunately, they don't have that level of influence any more.
