I agree. In fact, I am amazed at some of the foundational concepts of mathematics, astronomy, and physics that were discovered hundreds and thousands of years ago.
Just the other day I happened across the Archimedes Screw which will move water and grains up hill.
It works as a thin lengthwise disk-like screw that runs the length of a tube inside, and it also works in a tubing that would resemble one wrapped around a pipe.
