Bloomberg’s Heilemann: Melania Plagiarism Worse than Biden, Obama
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 07/19/2016 9:50:10 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

John Heilemann came up with a strange way to defend Joe Biden and Barack Obama, and to attack Melania Trump, for the plagiarism in speeches each of them gave.

On today’s Morning Joe, Heilemann argued that Biden and Obama’s plagiarism wasn’t as bad, because they ripped off fellow liberals: Neil Kinnock and Deval Patrick, respectively. In contrast, passages in Melania’s speech came from a 2008 Michelle Obama speech. Per Heilemann, that made Melania, or the person who prepared those passages for her, a “moronic plagiarist.” Heilemann omits one important thing: Melania is the wife of the candidate, for whom English is not even her second language. In contrast, at the time they gave their plagiarized speeches, Biden and Obama were presidential candidates themselves. They were almost certainly directly involved in the plagiarism.

Here is Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech. It is full of dishonesty and clichés. It is almost unreadable it is so bad.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93963863

But guess what. The phrases that Melania supposedly plagiarized are not even in the speech.

The media are lying. they are making it all up.

The question is, who fed them the false information.

On a similar post I mentioned that Mike Barnacle was never among the Morning Joe group or panel when this so called “plagiarism” topic was discussed.

He only showed up on other topics today.
Gee, I wonder why?

That’s it? That’s all there is to it?

Good grief!

Moochie doesn’t hold exclusive rights to that series of words.

This handwringing is only because the media wants to take the attention off of the theme of the night....Hillary and Obama’s incredible incompetence

“...Heilemann argued that Biden and Obama’s plagiarism wasn’t as bad, because they ripped off fellow liberals...”

So if I decide to become a mugger, I’ll only rob conservatives. That way, it won’t be “as bad”.
But this is easy to remedy. Mrs. Trump should resign her position along with anyone else who’s misappropriated another’s words.
Problem solved...

Sigh....another one who just doesn’t get it.

This is not about whether the words are owned by Michelle.

This is about a Trojan Horse.

But just keep thinking Trump should ignore what happened and everything is fine and keep all the people in his trusted circle to screw him over again at a later date.

Let us say, for the sake of argument--I am certainly not convinced;--but let us say, this was an attempt to sabotage Menania. That does not mean that this whole ruckus cannnot be turned to advantage. This can be a bit of a Nixon "little dog Checkers" opportunity. As I suggested in another thread:

Let me suggest how to turn the silly efforts to smear Melania into a real plus for the campaign--particularly with women.

The speech, as I recall, took about 20 minutes. Buy half hour program times--some when the audience will be mostly female, some at times when the audience will be mostly men, and have Melania take five or six minutes to describe the controversy, pointing out how it would be virtually impossible for anyone to invent a completely original way to communicate the family history, captured in the over-vetted sentences. Then ask the viewers to decide what they think, before playing the whole speech.

Confront the silliness head on, and let her very engaging, very appealing personality, both in the proposed introduction and in the actual speech, work its dynamic potential.

This would both allow her to project her enthusiasm for the candidate, while making those carping about "plagiarism" look stupid. If the powers that be in the campaign doubt my take? Let them try the approach with a privately organized focus group, and see for themselves.

I have enough experience in the use of spontaneous TV, to be firmly convinced that this would be a very dynamic way to exploit the idiocy of those supporting Mrs. Clinton.

The fate of the nation hangs upon Melania Trump. As goes Melania, so goes our wealth, security, and prosperity.

Because Melania’s speech writer and Michelle’s speech writer just happened by a miracle to use these exact words

““”that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say “

If you were Trump would you bet your campaign on the fact that you don’t have a trojan horse inside your campaign trying to jeopardize your bid for the WH.

I didn't like it one bit!

That sounds a lot like you are plagiarizing Dr. Seuss. Just because you left out the words 'not' and 'little' does not mean you didn't copy him.

Even better; look at Moochelle’s speech in its entirety,
the carping about it being the FIRST time in her life she
was proud of this country and how she didn’t fit in at
college (sob!) & how hard she had it growing up (boo hoo).
Sob! I can’t go on . . . . . Sob! Snot! Boo Hoo!

Melania is a beautiful, well spoken woman with an accent.

This was the first thread I’ve read on this. After hearing bits and pieces on the radio media today, I thought there was more to it than this.

And thanks for calling everyone an idiot on another thread because they didn’t see everything that has been discussed

I doubt TRUMP is gullible enough to not pick up on these
sorts of things. Of course, I’d also be aware of the fact
that Clinton’s camp isn’t above sowing discord where none
should be. I pray any treachery will be revealed quickly.

Michelle has SAID a LOT of words over the past 8 years.
A LOT. In fact, I may have happened “by a miracle” to use
some of those exact words myself. Oops! I guess I just
“plagiarized” some words from your post!
