Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich accused the media of applying a double standard with the accusations of plagiarism in Melania Trump's covention speech.
"It is the most disgusting example of the news media's desperation to smear somebody who had a home run, bases loaded, amazing speech," Gingrich told the Washington Examiner.

The more I see/hear of Newt, the more I agree with you.
Several weeks ago I thought he was a good choice for Veep, and maybe that was true, but being ‘on the loose’ is much better.

I smell a setup somehow, a Hillary dirty trick. I think somehow the speech writer was in collusion with team Clinton. The media was too quick to on it with comparison video. that has been Steve Smith (?) Was leading the charge on CNN. Huge ‘I look cool factor’ for him. Plus he hates Trump.

IMO... I'd rather see Newt as White House Chief of Staff and Chief Adviser to Trump.
Newt can assess a political situation very rapidly which is what Trump needs to make decisions and keep momentum flowing.
