I'd post it here but it's in PDF form and I can't cut and paste. But follow the link, it's a quick read and it should make all those who making such a fuss over this feel like jerks.
I see this was posted elsewhere. I’ll let the mods decide if they want to remove this thread (or remove from breaking news).
You can bet your sweet *** I’ll never say, “My word is my bond” anymore. These liberal plagiarism police are tough!
The only part that reflects a little badly on Melania is that she is reported to admire Mooch. I don’t share that sentiment.
My name is Meredith McIver and I'm an in-house staff writer at the Trump Organization. I am also a longtime friend and admirer of the Trump family.
In working with Melania Trump on her recent First Lady speech, we discussed many people who inspired her and messages she wanted to share with the American people. A person she has always liked is Michelle Obama. Over the phone, she read me some passages from Mrs. Obama's speech as examples. I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech. I did not check Mrs. Obama's speeches. This was my mistake, and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant.
Yesterday, I offered my resignation to Mr. Trump and the Trump family, but they rejected it, Mr. Trump told me that people make innocent mistakes and that we learn and grow from these experiences.
I asked to put out this statement because I did not like seeing the way this was distracting from Mr. Trump's historic campaign for president and Melania's beautiful message and presentation.
I apologize for the confusion and hysteria my mistake has caused. Today, more than ever, I am honored to work for such a great family. I personally admire the way Mr. Trump has handled this situation and I am grateful for his understanding.
Sincerely,
Meredith McIver
I watched a little of ABC news this morning and it looks like the MSM is about to declare a state of emergency to exist within the MSM over Melania’s speech.
I feel certain that Merideth had no intention to harm or deceive anyone with this speech
The linked PDF is McIver’s statement.
It is post #2 in this thread:

Trump turns a negative into a huge positive. He protects his people.
Hillary lies through her teeth habitually. The MSM constantly lies. And they make a fuss over this???
Hypocrisy doesn’t even come close to describing the Lying Left.
CNN just reported when their sound engineers played Melania’s speech backwards the repeated phrase was heard, “Hillary is dead”.
She had ONE job!
If Melania said she admired some things Michelle said in her speech, at that time the speech writer should have asked what exactly Michelle said, warned about plagerism, known about the fuss press makes about alleged plagerism and checked Michelle’s speeches and avoided them.
Just Bullshhat.
I stay in the underminers in the campaign camp. Saw it in primary with own eyes.
Keep in mind how unfair this is to Melania. She speaks five languages, and English isn't her first language. It's TOTALLY reasonable that she would tell a speechwriter the thoughts she wanted to convey, and as much as possible do the writing. But of course she'd have a writer to be sure the English is perfect!
Melania comes off as a good mother standing above the fray and Donald knows when NOT to be tough.
I like it.
In an earlier thread somewhere I suggested somebody of the speech-writer persuasion fall on a sword and be a hero.
Here ‘tis.
And. Because the MSM can never get over trivial sh!!te, it’ll be in the news cycle for another three days. Which is spectacular. Have you ever seen anybody get so much over a few innocent words and a trivial cribbing?
I’m staying with the evil genius meme.
Now if the rest of the Trump campaign staff can just shut up about it then this statement and Trump’s action should finally put this to rest.
It should make the media feel like jerks, but instead it will send off in victory dances that will last until they can start fawning over the “Perfect Hillary” next week.
They are nothing if not predictable.
So Trump is loyal to his employees,I would like to thank the media for pointing this out
Who really give a bleep about this speech. People died under hillarys watch, where is the grief of that?
OK! I have been rough on the Trump team over this, and I still don’t like the way Manafort handled the aftermath. But I totally accept that this was an innocent mistake, and I hope that every media outlet that has been tough on Donald and Melania Trump over this unfortunate incident will give this explanation the same play they gave the original speech. And I might add that I think Donald Trump handled it in a very classy way. On we go!
