CRUZ’S 2020 $$$ drive arrived in my inbox less than an hour after his ‘campaign’ speech. I pushed the UNSUBSCRIBE button.
Cruz did not help himself last night by antagonizing a major block of Party voters. It was possible to thread the needle finely by promoting conservatism, demonstrating leadership and electability, and then pointing to Trump as the person “best able to implement these values in 2016”.
He didn’t.
Instead, he bought trouble.
That’s not just bad politics, it was deeply UNWISE. We literally pray for wisdom in our leaders, and Cruz failed that test last night.
this guy never had the slightest chance of appealing to the broader electorate, delusions of grandeur to say the least; now he will never win his own party under any circumstance
