OK, what missing fact could make this shooting justifiable?
Some questions to ask:
- How were the police made aware of the call? What did the caller who reported it say?
- How long were the police in contact with the subjects?
- What transpired before the short video clip?
- Were the subjects known to the police? Did they have a history of violence or crimes?
- Was the area of town a high-crime district? If so, what types of crime?
- Could the police tell what the autistic person was holding? How would the police know that he is autistic? Were they told?
I doubt you can answer any of these?
Police go into most situations complete blind, and have to listen to armchair quarterbacks pontificate about the facts police should have acted upon after they are known later.
