‘Intellectualism’ is a huge problem, and it has nothing to do with real knowledge or reasoned thinking. It's an almost cultish belief system that has led to the point at which the ‘thoughts’ and beliefs of those who self-identify as ‘progressives’ and liberals are so predicable as to be accurately described as ‘group think’. It's eerily almost like mass hypnosis, and IMHO its very destructive to society.

The general rule is that two-thirds of Europeans (and Canadians) think like that, and the other third can understand why Americans, like themselves, want strong leadership that is based on a foundation of respected laws and borders.

Europeans should understand by now the follies of weak unprotected borders (no longer between each other so much as between them and the Islamic world).

Canadians who take an anti-American position (not me obviously) are even more ridiculous because we take for granted a strongly defined border and would never tolerate any mass incursions across our border.

I’m thinking of running for the leadership of our own Conservative Party on a platform of building a wall on our southern border and having Hillary Clinton pay for it. We don’t want to be swamped by fleeing American leftists again.

Anyway, I am glad the man has clever friends in a narrow belt of sophistication. That sounds like the recipe for an active sex life to me. Oh, wait, he’s British. Oh well.
