As Trump made his speech after the sun had set and it was ‘dark’ outside, I’m not surprised the MSM decided it was a “dark” speech.

"Progressive" Democrats, you want "dark"? If so, all you have to do is read a few paragraphs from the bold and brave revolutionaries who brought light from darkness, freedom from villainous oppression, plenty from a wilderness, and hope for the hundreds of millions who have come to the shores for a better life!!
They knew what leads to "darkness," and they warned posterity and such "darkness" was only a few generation away, if they strayed from the essential ideas of liberty incorporated into their Declaration of Independence and Constitution.
What wimps these uneducated in the ways of history are!! Try these statements from America's early leaders, and you'll know what "dark" warnings of the realities of tyranny are.

Scant praise for Trump from Rush. This was the monologue that made me turn him off today. He makes excuses for the GOPe without telling us what their true intentions are.

Reality is just too strenuous and disruptive for them.
Wait until after next weeks Dummocrat convention and Hillary’s speech. The MSM will say the convention was electric, energetic, well-received and that Hill’s speech was uplifting, forward-looking, and presidential. I can hear it now.
I thought his speech said a lot of good things, things that have been repressed by our society, in particular the media, for years.
I turned to PBS right after it ended. David Brooks, perhaps Matthew Dowd, and I believe Mark Shields and Gwen Ifill were on, IIRC.
It sounded like they had come prepared with their DNC talking points about the speech being “dark.”
I actually don’t think it they saw it that way, but that it was the left’s attempt to define it in some people’s minds.
I also thought that response from them, overall, was like “whistling past the graveyard.” I believe it was obvious to them that a great many Americans would find a lot to like in that speech.
I believe Mark Shields, IIRC, was trying to wish this into being when he said that Hillary Clinton was going to come along next week and drive a truck through what Trump said.
And just thinking of it now, what a choice of words, given the terror attack in Nice and all the loss of life there.
