Amish and Mennonites don’t vote.

Anabaptists do not normally vote. I have a Mennonite community nearby, while they enjoy electricity and all, they do not vote.

Oh. They may want to change that. But then they dont like change in the first place, do they. I’ll bet the younger one’s would like to vote.

I am not sure that the Amish don’t vote. There are differences between Amish communities, with some being much more stringent than others.

When Ross Perot was running, my husband was the head of our county’s Perot campaign.

Much to our surprise, at one county wide meeting, all these Amish men, with very serious faces, filed in to listen to the presentation. They rode buggies from quite a distance, too.

Just an interesting anecdote for you all, and please know that the communities keep in close touch with one another via snail mail newsletters, and discuss a lot of these subjects.
