Sure, he was—but the dentist’s point was entirely accurate, and this kid is acting as if it is a big accomplishment to complete your own college application. As if he didn’t get into Stanford with his score—which is so low he won’t even admit it in whine here—because he is Hispanic. Pretty clearly he got a 30, which just barely gets him into the 95% range.
That means most likely the kid will either wash out of his biomedical engineering major—or be helped along with his grades throughout.
Maybe not. Maybe he can hack it. But his score suggests he probably can’t. E.g., if the kid were 99% on the math portion of the ACT exam, you can be sure he’d be bragging about that. And having parents who aren’t fluent in English shouldn’t influence that portion of his scores anyway.
I put them both in the jerk category.
You’re most likely not getting into Stanford with that score unless your parents are big donors, you’re affirmative action lucky, or you’re an athlete.
A 31 puts you in the bottom quartile, so a 30 is very safely down in affirmative action and athlete land:
If he was an anchor baby, he should have been sent back with his parents when they should have been sent back 18 years ago.

Sounds like the student was miffed because the dentist pointed out the Affirmative Action truth.
Secondly -- if he uses his education for the good of the USA, he does "pay it back"
Thirdly - the native born American Dentist's daughter with higher grades who got stiffed would have paid our country back.

My leftist neighbor runs a flophouse for anything, including illegals, that can pay his inflated rent. The last batch of illegals, who stuck around for a month, all had expensive SUVs parked in the driveway by the time they left. So I’m assuming that the government (you and me) is now buying vehicles for illegals.
