No need to correct you, that’s exactly what happened. That war against Serbia was an atrocity and unforgivable.
Yes, we supported the KLA against the quietly Moscow backed Serbs.
Not unlike Syria (and the rest of the Middle East), both sides committed atrocities. Both the KLA, and the Orthodox Serbs
I am not saying there weren’t other significant factors, but the KLA were largely to blame for the break-up of the former Yugoslavia, as they were trying to take control of a portion of a former country. Once the KLA Muslims became a big enough portion of the population, they did attempt to create their own government.

Before we got into this conflict, we knew the KLA had been one of the primary conduits of smuggling drugs, weapons, Middle Eastern people, and terrorist into Central Europe and Western Europe.
There was a strategic element to it, as in the beginning, Boris Yeltsin was quietly trying to reassert geopolitical control throughout the Balkans. However, when the US jumped all in, Moscow carefully danced over to our side in words.
But, one of the bigger motivations for US involvement was the infamous Bill Clinton “wag-the-dog.”
By committing US forces to the region, Bill Clinton was able to eliminate pressure he was facing from his perjury charge, and the once impending threat of China-gate.
China-gate was the much bigger and much more dangerous story and investigation which would have ended his presidency, if it had been permitted by GOP-e. It was the GOP-e which really stepped in to stop Gingrich from opening the truly criminal China-gate.
In a nutshell, China-gate involved the Clintons accepting massive cash donations into the Clinton/Gore Campaign, in exchange for Federally forced transfer of dual and military purpose technology to the Chinese, as in nuclear secrets, propulsion and telemetry systems to get Chinese satellites into orbit etc...
Hmmm... Haven’t we heard something similar to this more recently...?
This is where the insertion of US Forces into the former Yugoslavia became and imperative, as Newt Gingrich was preparing to open the China-gate chapter in the midst of the Clinton perjury investigation and charge.
YES, THE CLINTONS WERE TAKING FOREIGN MONEY FROM CHINA INTO THEIR CAMPAIGN, and would later repay China with high-tech military technology! AND MANY WERE INVOLVED, who are still in our government!
When the House investigation even hinted at where the investigation was going, many Chinese individuals fled the United States who had been involved, the GOP-e intervened to stop an to isolate Newt Gingrich, and Bill Clinton sent our forces into former Yugoslavia (wag-the-dog)!
