Art Laffer is a famous economist, one of the brains behind President Ronald Reagan's supply-side tax cuts in 1981. But he was also a political adviser to Reagan and other presidential candidates. Based on history rather than polls or demographics, he insists Donald Trump will win the presidential race—and win easily.
History is an argument not often heard in presidential elections except in one case: the likelihood that after one party holds the White House for eight years, that party probably won't win four more years. The one exception in the past half-century was the election of George H.W. Bush in 1988 after eight years of the Reagan presidency.
But Laffer doesn't rely heavily on that case. Instead, he cites six historical parallels, comparisons, or developments that he says point inescapably to a Trump victory over Hillary Clinton in November.
He should.
But shame on Laffer—he was on Larry Kudlow’s radio show this AM, talking about how they and Steve Moore are among Trump’s informal advisors pushing Trump to essentially deal with immigration by welcoming any and all, including and especially Hispanic, would-be immigrants here legally (and not booting them home if they came here illegally), because as economists—unlike the great unwashed rest of us—they can see and know how good it is for the country.
No recognition that at least three generations in even those low-skill Hispanic immigrants cost us more than they contribute to the economy. No recognition of how such low-skill, low-culture immigrants corrode our culture and cost us money. Let alone, indeed, pushing out low-skill job opportunities for blacks and other low-skill US citizens.
Shame, shame, shame! They are working hard to ruin Trump and make a liar of him for everything he won the nomination on.
Sounds like the battle is still going on within the Trump camp, so there is apparently still hope.
Your economic well-being and safety is under attack by enemies foreign and domestic. Wake up Art. Many criminals never stop until they are incarcerated or eliminated. Hillaryous Rotten Criminal is free to roam/ruin the republic. Witness history. Watch current events. The anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life criminals/deceivers/collectivists/socialists/totalitarians have brought havoc to this great nation. None are held accountable. Despite the tremendous effort of a solid American, we are in deep, deep danger.

Final nail in Hillary’s coffin was picking a whitey for VP.
Too late. With Trump’s statement that he would not accept Cruz’ endorsement, Trump effectively ended Cruz’ political career.
In addition, before the election, Laffer’s supply-side economics were ridiculed endlessly. I remember a notorious hit piece by Scientific American (big lib mag, hardly a science magazine) doing the supply side math and pounding the table on how it just couldn’t work. Supply side policies (especially the passage of TEFRA) worked in spades and everyone became a supply sider - for awhile. The urge to tax and spend is a deeply ingrained one and this is why Trump will win - the money we send to DC in the form of taxes is our money - pols seem to have forgotten that inconvenient truth.

They mocked his ‘Laffer curve’ which is nothing but COMMON SENSE.
The called it the ‘giggle wiggle’.
I truly hope you are correct. I don’t think it is going to be that easy. Trump will have to have a substantial margin over Hillary in order to counteract the amount of voter fraud that is surely to be perpetrated by the left. I also am always weary about nominees that are unable to carry their home states. Trump will have to work very hard to win New York.
Maybe the pressure of hating and being hated is getting to her so much that she cracked, and in spite of political calculation picked someone she really liked, damn the torpedoes.
Hard to believe there’s any humanity left in her, but it’s the best I can come up with.

One of the things I like most about Trump is that he is not a lawyer.
